Busy Bee
It has been a few days since I have post and not for the lack of not having anything to say. It is because I have been busy...a busy bee.
I have been working on a project for Mr. hugs and kisses. He has been so patient with everyone else always getting something even though he has always wanted his own quilt for work. You see he works as a paramedic/fireman and that requires him to work shift work. Usually he works a 24hour shift but sometimes it is extended to a 36hour shift. Having something nice and cozy would be nice for him, especially being the king of comfort (not now, later, I'll explain to you why I call him that). I started this quilt about 3years ago. While I was cleaning out my sewing room I found this quilt top shoved in the upper shelve of my closet. I felt so bad when I found it, however, looking at it and knowing myself I can tell the reason why I bannished it to the upper shelf ~ its ugly. But he says loves it so I decided to finish it up. It is the biggest quilt I have machine quilted todate at the size of 85 x 72. I just need to sew the binding on then I'll share it with you.
Also, I have made a present for another one of Mr. hugs and kisses's relative who had a baby. We never knew they were pregnant and found out after the baby was a few months old but it is still nice to give a little gift. Here is what I made ~ they were fun to do and I think I might offer them in my shop when I re-open.
Lisa at Polkadotcreations is hosting a Summer Skirt Sheet Swap which is looking like it will be quite fun and creative. We are swapping older twin size sheets. From these sheets we can get atleast 4 skirts. Lisa has a easy-peasy pattern to make an original skirt that will be perfect during the hot summer months. And most exciting we are repurposing sheets and expanding our wardrobe for pennies:)
I hope everyone is having a great day ~
